Completely wiped out. The violent Typhoon Haiyan not only destroyed cities but also took thousands of lives; men, women, elders, children – Haiyan showed no mercy. As I watch the news, I knew that I needed to help. There must be some way I can reach out even if I am thousands of miles away. I am proud of the Second Life community for standing together and making an effort to lend a hand. It takes so little to help those in need. These shirts created by Fuzz Lennie are sold for L$100 each and comes in male and female versions. L$100. That’s about 41 cents (in USD) according to the current SL Linden Exchange. A mere change can make the difference between life and death for those affected by Super Typhoon Haiyan. You can purchase the shirts and make additional donations at: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Zenshi%20South/18/60/21.
It doesn’t stop there. If you feel like giving more, tons of RL organizations are accepting donations and I am linking three of them below:
Philippine Red Cross: http://www.redcross.org.ph/

With every tragedy comes a blessing. Typhoon Haiyan may have shattered homes, eradicated lives but it also instilled faith and hope in the hearts of many. Differences are set aside by feuding countries. It is amazing to see the world united as one just as it should be.
