Tomorrow marks the 1st anniversary of my blog! That means it’s been a year since I posted my very first entry (no laughing). Looking at it, I’m proud to have come this far and it’s also rewarding to see how my avi sort of “evolved”. There are tons of people whom I should express gratitude to – the SL Plurk community for simply being awesome, the SL Blogger Support Group for lending a helping hand when needed, the talented creators all over the grid for making beautiful things that inspire me to blog, my MBMA family for pushing my creativity, my friends who I always bug in-world with my senseless ramblings, and of course, you, yes, you… for taking the time to read and visit my blog. A million thank you! I am looking forward to another year of blogging and hopefully more after that. ❤
Today is my 1st rezday and to honor that, I decided to participate in the STAND4LOVE campaign. STAND4LOVE is an awareness charity project that fights for the rights of the LGBT community. I have always been proactive when it comes to discrimination and equality. Being an Asian living in the USA, discrimination is something that I have come across a lot of times and although it may not seem apparent these days.. it still happens.
I believe that each one of us is entitled to happiness. We are all free to love whoever we want to without having to deal with the harsh judgement of narrow-minded people. STAND4LOVE. STAND4EQUALITY. STAND4YOU.
Yes, I was listening to Demi Lovato’s “Skyscraper” while editing this photo. This song never fails to empower me everytime I listen to it. It makes me feel like I can overcome anything and reminds me that I have gone through a lot to even think of giving up. I have a lot in life to be thankful for – my family, friends who showed their support and gave me strength with their words of encouragement.
Second Life has been an outlet for me and allowed me to channel my frustrations and turn it to something positive. Like this blog – this blog is more than just a past time for me, more than just the normal “Hey! Look at what I’m wearing!” blog… this blog takes my mind off of unnecessary worries. I can be socially awkward at times and I find it a little difficult to start conversations but do know that I deeply appreciate each and everyone of you for being part of my Second Life experience.
